Sri Vidya Puja, Mantra Japa & Yagna is a profound, highly sacred ritual dedicated to Goddess Tripura Sundari (Lalita Maha Tripurasundari), the supreme feminine energy in Hinduism. It serves as a comprehensive spiritual path that blends deep esoteric devotion with practical rituals to invoke divine energy and experience absolute abundance, wisdom, and eventual spiritual liberation.
Sri Vidya represents one of the most revered and sophisticated paths within Tantric and Vedic traditions. The centerpiece of this practice is the Sri Yantra (visible at the base of the Goddess's throne in the image)—a complex sacred geometry containing nine interlocking triangles that represent the entire cosmos and the human body.
Goddess Lalita Tripura Sundari is depicted seated beautifully upon her throne, holding her traditional symbols: a sugarcane bow (representing the mind), flower arrows (representing the five senses), a noose (attachment), and a goad (repulsion). Unlike paths that demand the renunciation of material comforts, Sri Vidya teaches that the material world and spiritual world are one. This ritual systematically worships the Goddess through her geometric yantra and secret seed syllables, aligning the devotee’s personal energy field with cosmic rhythms to grant both material luxury (Bhoga) and spiritual liberation (Moksha).

2. Sri Yantra Sthapana & Navavarna Puja
A consecrated Sri Yantra (made of copper, silver, or crystal) is placed at the center of the altar.
Navavarna Puja: The most intricate phase where priests systematically worship the nine distinct enclosures (circuits) of the Sri Yantra, invoking the specific guarding deities of each layer using offerings of kumkum, lotus petals, and fragrant waters.
3. Shodashopachara & Abhishek
The Goddess is offered sixteen traditional royal hospitalities (Shodashopachara), including the chanting of the Lalita Sahasranama (1,000 names of the Goddess) or the Khgadamala Stotram.
A continuous Abishekam (ceremonial bathing) of the Yantra is performed with milk, honey, sugarcane juice, and rose water.
4. Core Mantra Japa
The priests engage in intense mental and vocal chanting of the highly guarded Sri Vidya root mantras using a crystal (Sphatik) or lotus seed rosary:
Panchadasakshari Mantra: A 15-syllable mantra representing the subtle body of the Goddess.
Maha Shodashi Mantra: The supreme 16-syllable cosmic key of the lineage.
5. Sri Vidya Yagna (Fire Ritual)
A sacred Havan fire is kindled.
Special items reflecting pure luxury and sweetness—such as lotus flowers, pink roses, pure cow's ghee, woodapple (Bilva leaves), and sweet rice milk porridge (Payasam)—are offered into the fire with each root-mantra recitation to seal the energetic benefits.
6. Purnahuti & Mangala Aarti
The ritual draws to a close with Purnahuti (the final complete offering to the fire), followed by a grand camphor Aarti. Devotees receive the energized kumkum or water from the Yantra to preserve the protective matrix around their home.
