Ayush Homam & Yagna is a sacred Vedic fire ritual dedicated to Lord Dhanvantari, Lord Ganesha, the Navagrahas, and Ayush Devata for seeking divine blessings for good health, long life, protection from diseases, and overall well-being. This auspicious ceremony is especially performed for children, birthdays, and individuals recovering from illness or beginning a new phase of life.
Ayush Homam (Ayushya Homam) is one of the most revered Vedic rituals performed to promote longevity, vitality, and physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. The word "Ayush" means long life, while "Homam" refers to the sacred fire ritual through which offerings are made to invoke divine blessings.
During the Ayush Homam & Yagna, experienced Vedic priests begin with Ganesh Puja, Sankalp, Kalash Sthapana, and invoke Lord Dhanvantari, Ayush Devata, Lord Surya, and the Navagrahas. Vedic mantras, including Ayushya Suktam and other sacred hymns, are chanted while offerings of herbs, ghee, grains, and medicinal ingredients are made into the sacred fire. The ceremony concludes with Purnahuti, Aarti, Shanti Path, and the distribution of Prasad.
