Raksha Stotra Path
Ram Raksha Stotra Path is a potent Sanskrit hymn (stotra) dedicated to Lord Rama, composed by Saint Budha Kaushika. The literal meaning of "Ram Raksha" is 'Protection by Lord Rama'. This path is chanted as a powerful spiritual shield to protect the devotee from all forms of physical, mental, and cosmic dangers while instilling supreme peace and strength.
According to Vedic lore, the composition of the Ram Raksha Stotra was revealed to Sage Budha Kaushika in a dream by none other than Lord Shiva himself. The stotra structurally acts as a Kavacham (spiritual armor). During the chanting, the devotee systematically names each part of their physical anatomy—from head to toe—and invokes the specific names, virtues, and weapons of Lord Rama to occupy, guard, and fortify that bodily area.
Worshipping Lord Rama through this recitation establishes a deep connection with the archetype of Maryada Purushottam (the ideal righteous being). It is extensively practiced during auspicious periods like Rama Navami, Navratri, or during personal crises to dissolve malicious influences, dispel fears, and re-establish righteous focus (Dharma) in one's life.

A. Preparation & Sthapana
Wake up before sunrise, bathe, and wear clean clothes (ideally yellow or white).
Clean the altar and place a beautiful image or idol of Lord Rama, ideally seated along with Goddess Sita, Lakshmana, and Lord Hanuman.
Place a sacred book containing the text on a wooden stand (Vyas Peeth), as shown in the image.
B. Sankalp & Invocation
Light a ghee lamp (Diya) and incense sticks.
Hold water, flowers, and rice in your right palm to take a Sankalp, stating your name, lineage (Gotra), and the core intention behind the recitation.
Offer initial prayers to Lord Ganesha (to remove hurdles) and Lord Hanuman (the ultimate devotee of Rama and the protector of the text).
C. The Chanting (Path)
Sit facing East or North on a comfortable woolen mat (Aasan).
Recite the stotra with clear Sanskrit pronunciation and deep focus.
For intense manifestation or remedies, the stotra is traditionally chanted 11, 21, or 108 times over a fixed duration of days.
Keep a copper vessel filled with water (Kalash) nearby while chanting. The sound vibrations structurally charge the water, making it a highly therapeutic, blessed medicine (Teertha) by the end of the ritual.
D. Aarti & Distribution
Conclude the path by performing the Rama Aarti or Hanuman Aarti with camphor.
Distribute the fruit offerings (Bhog) and drink the energized water from the vessel as prasadam to seal the divine protection within your system.
