Kuber Pujan
Kuber Pujan is a sacred Hindu ritual performed to worship Lord Kuber, the treasurer of the gods and the king of the Yakshas. This puja is performed to invite financial stability, unlock new streams of income, and ensure the preservation of wealth. While it can be practiced regularly, it holds immense cosmic significance when performed during festivals like Dhanteras and Diwali.
In Hindu mythology, Lord Kuber is not the creator of wealth (a role attributed to Goddess Lakshmi), but rather its custodian and distributor. He ensures that wealth is managed, preserved, and allocated according to one's karma.
As depicted in traditional iconography, Lord Kuber is shown with a plump, golden-hued form, symbolizing ultimate abundance. He holds a mongoose (which spits out precious gems and jewels) or a money pot, and sits surrounded by overflowing treasures, gold coins, and jewels. Worshiping him helps individuals break free from debts, overcome financial stagnation, and gain the wisdom required to manage and multiply assets responsibly.
The primary mantra used to invoke his blessings during the puja is the Kuber Dhana Prapti Mantra:

Auspicious Timing: Kuber Pujan can be performed on Fridays, or during major festivals like Dhanteras, Diwali, and Akshaya Tritiya. The ideal time is during Pradosh Kaal (around sunset) or early morning.
The Setup: Clean your puja altar thoroughly. Place a yellow or red cloth on a wooden platform. Position an image, idol, or a Kuber Yantra facing the North direction (as North is governed by Lord Kuber).
Purification: Sprinkle holy water (Ganga Jal) over yourself and the ritual area. Light a ghee lamp (diya) and incense sticks.
Offerings: Lord Kuber loves yellow and golden items. Offer him yellow sweets (like laddoos or pedas), yellow flowers (marigold), unbroken rice grains (akshat), and sandalwood paste. You can also place some gold coins, jewelry, or cash boxes in front of the idol to be blessed.
Chanting & Meditations: Hold a Kamal Gatta (lotus seed) mala or a Sphatik (crystal) mala and chant the Kuber Mantra either 108 times or for 11-21 minutes with focused intent.
Aarti & Conclusion: Conclude the puja by performing the Kuber Aarti, distribution of prasad, and praying for the financial well-being of your entire family.
