Akal Mrityunjay Aata Shanti puja
Akal Mrityu Aatma Shanti Puja & Yagna is a sacred Vedic ritual performed for the peace and liberation of souls who have experienced an untimely or unnatural death. This powerful ceremony helps remove ancestral disturbances, grants spiritual peace to the departed soul, and invokes divine blessings for protection, harmony, and well-being of the family.
Akal Mrityu Aatma Shanti Puja & Yagna is a highly revered Vedic ritual dedicated to offering peace, liberation, and divine blessings to souls who have departed due to untimely or accidental circumstances. According to Hindu scriptures, souls affected by sudden or unnatural death may require special prayers and rituals to attain peace and move toward higher spiritual realms.
The puja begins with Ganesh Puja, Kalash Sthapana, and Sankalp performed in the name and gotra of the departed soul or the devotee's family. Experienced Vedic Pandits chant sacred Vedic mantras, perform Aatma Shanti Path, Pitru Tarpan, and a powerful Havan (Yagna) using authentic Vedic rituals to pray for the liberation (Moksha) and peace of the departed soul.
This ceremony is believed to reduce ancestral disturbances (Pitru Dosha), remove negative energies, and bring harmony, prosperity, and spiritual protection to the family. It is especially recommended for families who have experienced accidental deaths, unexpected loss of loved ones, or wish to perform special prayers for departed ancestors.
The puja can be performed at a holy temple, at home, or through online participation with live video, allowing families across the world to seek divine blessings with complete faith and authenticity.

1. Pre-Ritual Purification & Holy Venue Setup
The Location: Because of its heavy karmic nature, this ritual is traditionally not performed inside the main living area of a home. It is ideally executed at a sacred pilgrimage center or holy riverbank (such as Haridwar, Kashi, or Gaya). If done via an online portal, the priests execute the setup at their dedicated spiritual center while connecting you via a live stream.
Self-Purification: The family members performing the ritual take a physical bath and wear clean, traditional white or light-colored attire. The priest administers Achaman (holy water sipping) to purify the hostβs physical body and intentions.
2. Vishesh Sankalp (The Sacred Release Vow)
This is the most crucial step of the entire procedure.
The host holds water, raw rice grains (Akshat), and flowers in their right hand.
The priest recites the specific date, time, geographical alignment, and your family lineage (Gotra).
You will formally speak the name of the deceased family member, explicitly stating that this ritual is being performed to free their soul from all bounds, grant them absolute peace (Aatma Shanti), and settle any unintentional karmic debts.
3. Pind Daan (Symbolic Ancestral Offerings)
Creating the Pinds: The priests prepare three symbolic Pinds (round balls made out of barley flour, unpolished rice, and black sesame seeds). These represent the departed soul and the ancestral lineages.
Tarpan Ritual: Using water mixed with kusha grass, milk, honey, and black sesame seeds, the priest leads the family through Tarpanβgently pouring the liquid over the hands to cool and satisfy the heavy energies of the departed soul, easing their transition out of the earthly realm.
4. Mahamrityunjay Mantra Chanting
To neutralize the negative shockwaves and trauma associated with a sudden or accidental death, the energy of Lord Shiva (the conqueror of death) is invoked.
The priests conduct intense chanting of the Maha Mrityunjay Mantra. These sound vibrations are meant to clear the spiritual path for the soul and act as an energetic protective shield (Kavach) over the living family members.
5. The Shanti Yagna (Fire Ceremony)
Kindling the Havan: A sacred fire is kindled in the Havan Kund using clean mango wood and camphor.
Sacred Offerings (Ahuti): Special calming materials including cow ghee, black sesame seeds, white flowers, and medicinal herbs are offered into the fire. With every offering dropped into the flames, prayers are made to Agni Dev (the Fire God) to carry the essence of these offerings directly to the soul for its elevation.
6. Purnaahuti & Final Prayers
Conclusion: The ritual ends with a grand final offering (Purnaahuti) into the fire, signaling the completion of the soul's earthly release.
Kshama Prarthana: The family joins their hands to ask for forgiveness from the divine and the ancestors for any mistakes made during the lifetime of the deceased or during the steps of the puja.
Prasad & Charity: Traditionally, food or clothes are donated to the needy or to priests on behalf of the departed soul to complete the cycle of good karma.
